Today's post is to show you the work from my Milieu show with CreativeLive.
First, what is Milieu? Milieu definition is a person’s social environment. I used this as a starting point to explore what composes and forms ones community in our rapidly changing world. I explored this notion through sculpture, illustrations and fabric prints which were displayed at the CreativeLive offices.
I created five communities and for each one I had two to three houses and one 2-d piece. This set represents the Dreamers who are visionaries and idealists. The gallery below shows each piece of the dreamer series.
About The CreativeLive Artist-In-Residence Program
CreativeLive launched the artist-in-residence program in June 2014, connecting a promising local artist with extensive resources for helping independent entrepreneurs grow their businesses.I was given unlimited access to the CreativeLive catalog of 600+ courses, as well as a dedicated work space in the San Francisco offices. I had a sun filled workroom (which I will really miss!) where I was able to sketch my ideas, adding new work to the walls, and connecting with staff who were always excited to hear about my process. As someone who often works alone, it was great to feel part of something bigger and be able to contribute to it with my work. In addition to watching catalog courses, I was able to join the in-studio audience. If you want to join the CreativeLive audience (I highly recommend it), visit https://www.creativelive.com/front-row.
CreativeLive unleashes your creative potential by connecting you directly with the world's most inspiring visionaries. You can watch FREE classes on Photo & Video, Art & Design, Business & Life, Music & Audio, and Craft & Maker.
