April's Instagram

Madeline Trait

April whizzed by and sometimes I just wonder where all the days went. This is why for my Instagram feed I try to post a picture a day. So when the month flies by it is great to have a record of it all to look back on. From my pictures I can tell April was when spring fully arrived with all the lovely blooms and bright colors. Some are real and some are not but they are pretty just the same.

Sonoma Coast

Madeline Trait

Last weekend we took a quick trip up the coast to Gualala. And it was a great way to take a breather from the busy lives we lead and soak in the calming effect of the ocean. So armed with my (new to me) camera, I took these shots.  I have always loved photos of vast landscapes, especially the ocean and believe it conveys a lot of emotion in it's simplicity. So now when I look at them it reminds me to slow down a little and take some time out to appreciate life. Do you have anything that helps you?

From my book shelf

Madeline Trait

Another installment of what is on my book shelf and what I am currently finding inspiration from. Today we have a book full of beautiful photography. It is Flower Portraits by Joyce Tenneson.

The photos are gorgeous and they are of flowers in all different stages of their lives, which makes me like it even more. Her subtitle is "The Life Cycle of Beauty" which resonates with me, as I find inspiration from flowers when the are at their peak of freshness and even when all the life the has dried out of them.
