My process involves a lot of sketching and exploration. Lately, I have been exploring different mediums to sketch which helps me to work out my ideas and come to a finished design. Last week I switched from paint to pen. Pen is what I typically go to and paint is a newer medium for me. Painting helps me to be less rigid and more playful with my designs. Pen is about precision and detail and I feel much more comfortable with it. But both are equally important to coming to a finished idea. So, which direction so I go this week? Maybe both.

A work in progress and your sketch for the day!
Forgoing the typical Halloween festivities? Maybe hosting a devilishly good dinner or cocktail party instead? If it is the latter, I have an elegant and holiday appropriate arrangement perfect for the occasion.
Dark Red Dahlias
Purple Queen Anne's Lace
This arrangement will set the mood with it's dark red colors and black vase. To create it start with the purple queen anne's lace and then add in the dahlias. Once you have a good shape add the scabiosa and cosmos grouping them in two or threes and keeping some a little taller so that it doesn't become one solid ball.
Place on your table or bar and let the festivities begin!
Today we have Purple Queen Anne's Lace, Chocolate Cosmos and Red Dahlia's.
I love doing these photos as they show the beauty and interesting patterns flowers show while on their own. What's your favorite flower?
